RedForce Debt Management Headquarters

Chigama Architects has designed a new office building conceived to accommodate a contemporary workspace, which becomes home to the new headquarters of over
100 people. The office building’s form comes from its architectural concept, which is
centered on the idea of balance. The development engages with two harmonized urban
sizes and reflects the expanding nature of the metropolis with its two unique yet harmoniously balanced horizontal volumes. The building’s higher floors open to the city, creating a conceptual

and visual link with the verticality of Windhoek’s skyline, while the lower, recessed volume blends in subtly with the neighborhood’s residential fabric.

The building’s envelope, which has a tasteful balance between transparency and opacity
as well as a rhythmic interaction of vertical and horizontal parts, pays attention to the aesthetics and the surrounding environment or cultural background. The façades incorporate energy collecting technology and are glazed over two-thirds of their surface.
The building’s sophisticated urban appearance is maintained while clean energy is produced via photovoltaic modules embedded in silk-screened glass. The system is the outcome of a great deal of study that blends environmental performance with innovative aesthetics.

The design shows how architectural excellence and sustainability may coexist in a sophisticated and cohesive manner. The energy harvesting facade is the outcome of a design approach that integrates urban identity, comfort, and technology. We identified the facade as an active threshold that could both produce energy and provide a sophisticated architectural expression. Almost undetectable, the photovoltaic panels are installed without sacrificing transparency, lightness, or rhythm. As a pure design element, it is a technical solution that transforms into architectural language.

The office building acts as a catalyst for urban connection, both functional and emotional.
The site’s natural contrasts are reflected in its horizontal volume composition, and the glass facade’s transparency acts as a mediator between containment and openness, architecture
and nature. The building’s sustainability features, such as natural ventilation, photovoltaic integration, and passive solar shading, are skillfully incorporated into its formal language to
create a workspace that goes beyond simple functionality. It turns into a space for communication, mobility, and renewal. The office building adds a new sense of urban balance to Windhoek’s changing architectural landscape by altering the boundaries between glass and greenery,

as well as between private and public.
